Mary Horowitz is a single woman that earns for living by writing crosswords for the journal. She realizes that being alone is enough and agrees to go to a blind date with a stranger. This stranger is Steve who works for CNN as a cameraman. She immediately falls in love with him, unfortunately, he feels the opposite. He doesn’t feel like being with her any more and leaves.

Dale Denton is rather a lazy guy who works as a clerk in the court. Saul Silver is a rather lazy guy as well, he sells weed to his clients. Having overcome his sloth Dale goes to Saul to buy Pineapple Express – newly appeared weed. Then Dale sees the murder and he is really frightened. A man is killed by a policeman who acted together with a very dangerous drug dealer.

Danny and Wheeler get into an unpleasant story. Being drunk they break a trunk of the company where they both work and, as a result, get in prison. During the trial they are offered to spend a certain number of hours working or working with little children according to conditions of a special program. Only a day has passed and our two heroes agree to go to prison.

Don Ready has many vocations. He is a talented seller, a sensible lover, a song stylist. Ready is eager to help car dealership disposed in the local area to be saved from devastation. Their lives change – they enjoy selling, going to night clubs, drinking alcoholic beverages. They succeed in everything. The most surprising thing in the story is that Don Ready finds his true love.
