How To Train your Dragon Movie Review

Directed by Dean Deblois and Chris Sanders, How To Train Your Dragon is a movie that falls in various genres such as family movie, animation, comedy fantasy and adventure. Released sometime in March, the plot of the movie revolves around a young Viking known as Hiccup. The town he resides in has been under the mercy of dragons that have continuously made life hard by instilling fear and dread. The town forms an army to fight off the dragons and young Hiccup want to join them. Unfortunately, his father Stoik the Vast who is considered strong and mighty and is the leader of the town forbids him from doing so. He terms him as weak and clumsy and he believes that joining the town’s army would only endanger him.

Hiccup creates an invention that is supposed to help him hunt down the dragons and ignores his fathers warning. He joins the townspeople and while at it manages to bring down a fiery dragon. Though he tries to kill the dragon, he cannot bring himself to commit the final act and as such, lets it go free. From there henceforth, a friendship develops between this two and Hiccup names the dragon Toothless. The more time he spends with toothless, he realizes that his people have judged the dragons far too harshly. For this reason, he becomes segregated from his people and as such, he must find a way to bring mankind and the dragons into a peaceful agreement so that they can learn to exist together in peace.

As these two work towards meeting this end, so much happens and yet they do not give up. With a little help they just might manage to convince Hiccup's people that they can co-exist with the dragons in peace.
