Plot Summary:

If you haven’t seen a good horror flick in months, here is a very good film to keep you glued till the end. And Soon the Darkness is a movie that has the potential to make you scream in the middle of the night. Directed by Marcos Efron and written by the duo of Jennifer Derwingson and Efron himself, the movie stars Amber Heard, Odette Yustman and Karl Urban. The movie is actually a remake of a British film by the same name that was made in 1970. The movie revolves around two American girls who go on a bike trip to Argentina and one of them disappears in mysterious circumstances. The other girl must find her lest her fears are confirmed.

Stephanie (Amber Heard) and Ellie (Odette Yustman) are close friends and embark upon a journey to Argentina to have vacations. They reach an exotic village in the country to soak some sun and to flirt with local boys. They visit a number of bars in the evening and gets into some heated argument. In the morning, Stephanie goes out to cool off. But upon her return she finds Ellie missing. Stephanie is perplexed and does not know who to turn to in this foreign country. She sees signs of struggle in the room, and fears the worst about Ellie. She asks local police for help, but they shrug off saying they already have a number of missing foreigner missing girls to solve. Stephanie contacts Michael, who is also an American staying in the same hotel. The duo indulge in frantic search of the missing girl, but Stephanie suspects foul play on the part of Michael and feels that he may be fooling her while pretending to search Ellie. She is helpless, and must do something before it is too late.

And Soon the Darkness is indeed very gripping and full of horror and thrill.
