Plot Summary:

Trust Francis Ford Cappola to churn out gripping films. We all know his capabilities and the success of his earlier Godfather films is proof enough of his directorial talents. If you like war films, Apocalypse Now is certainly going to win you over. Also written by Cappola along with John Milius, Apocalypse Now turned out to be a great box office hit and was also nominated for best film at the Oscars. The story of the film is set during the Vietnam War. It revolves around two US army officers, one of whom is sent into the jungles of Vietnam to assassinate the other. Nothing short of sensational, I must say, and you will nod in appreciation if you get Apocalypse Now movie download.

The main character of the movie is Captain Willard, played by Martin Sheen. He is an army officer specializing in political assassinations that are kept secret and buried under the carpet. He is assigned a mission to go to Cambodia where a Special Forces officer, Colonel Walter Kurtz, (Marlon Brando) has gone berserk as he has set himself up as a God among the locals and his troops. He is behaving irresponsibly in a manner that is causing embarrassment to the US government and this is why Captain Willard has been chosen to kill him.

Willard is made to land in the jungles through a patrol boat along with other soldiers and a good part of the movie shows how he reaches the place where Kurtz is holed up. On the trip, Willard reads the confidential papers given to him and he starts to feel that perhaps Kurtz is the only sane person among the US forces operating in Vietnam. Kurtz was a brave army officer, who after having served in Vietnam could have got a promotion back in the USA. Bur he opted to go back and serve in Vietnam. He believes that charging Kurtz with vague murders is rubbish.

After a tortuous journey, Willard finally makes it and comes face to face with Kurtz. Here, Willard is surprised to see the atmosphere that Kurtz has created and the manner in which he lives. Kurtz reads poetry, tape records his philosophy and lives in an abandoned temple. Kurtz tries to convince Willard about his ways to bring him in his fold. Willard is confused as to whether carry out his mission or join the family.
