Plot Summary:
Real events made up a base of a new film by Paul Verhoeven who had been a success in Hollywood for over 20 years. This time he returned to the Netherlands in order to shoot drama. The story develops during the World War II. The main character Rachel Steinn lives in Holland occupied by the Germans. She has been promised to move her family safely to Belgium. But they have been robbed and murdered by the occupants instead as their names have been written in the “Black book”. Somehow Rachel managed to avoid the death. She chose the moment and jumped into the water. This step saved her life. Again she was lucky not to be captured and later on she became a member of the resistance movement. She looked like an Arian lady very much with her hair dyed blonde. Once the resistance movement leader of Denmark gets to know that his son has been captured by the Germans. He is desperate and asks Rachel to use her feminine power and make conditions for his son release. Later she leads a double life. On one hand she becomes a spy wishing to destroy the plans of the Germans. On the other hand she is a sexual slave for the Nazis. Verhoeven and Gerard Soeteman have written the script that has been put into the base of the film winning the main prize at Venice Film Festival in 2006.
