Plot Summary:
If you believe in human endeavor, you will certainly love this Conviction movie. The film has been directed by Tony Goldwyn and written by Pamela Gray. In the genre of Biography, Drama and thriller, the film stars Hillary Swank, Sam Rockwell and Melissa Leo. Kenny is suspected of a murder and is sentenced to life in 1983. His sister Betty Anne (Hillary Swank), who is a mother of two, believes that her brother is innocent and applies against conviction but her appeals are overturned twice and she has no more appeals left. She vows to get her innocent brother released from jail and dedicates her entire life for the purpose. She goes to a law school just to be able to defend her brother against injustice done to him by the courts. Imagine a woman devoting two decades of her life only to get a law degree so she could defend her brother! This is a movie based upon a true story and the performances of Hillary swank and Rockwell is so intense that they will move you to tears.
It is in 1995 that Betty gets her law degree and begins to collect evidence that could prove innocence of her brother. She collects the DNA of the dead man and that of his brother and gets them analyzed to prove that her brother has been framed and is actually innocent. Kenneth finally gets justice and is released as an innocent in 2001 after having served 18 years in prison. The film ends soon after the release of Kenny but leaves audiences deeply immersed in the characters of Betty and Kenny who have shown their acting talents in the movie to a great extent. Conviction is a must watch movie for all those who believe in human endeavor, grit and determination.
