Plot Summary:
Somewhere at Japanese borders there exists a terrible secret well hidden in the ocean from people who want to discover it. There are people who keep the secret and if they will need to die for it, they will. Ric O'Barry is the main character in the film. He lives in Taiji. Earlier he was training dolphins, and he was very famous in ‘60s as he raised and trained five dolphins who took part in "Flipper." He loved his fosterlings so much that decided to move away from capturing them. He knew they were self-devoted, kind and helpless creatures that understood his every word and gesture. In such a way he went to Japan and started living in there, taking care of dolphins and other ocean creatures swimming at the cost line. But there is a cove that is forbidden to enter and no one knows what is really hidden there. The city doesn’t know that at night fishermen are hunting after the poor dolphins to sell them for an industry that promises them a lot of money, or to kill them for meat that is very precious and costs pretty much. Their aim is high income and ardour, but these games are not as safe as they can seem. They take care of being unnoticed and would do anything in order to keep this secret from curious eyes.
