Plot Summary:
Bad Blake is 57 and his is a legend alive as he is a famous and respectable country and western singer. In spite of this fact he seems to be totally forgotten. His friend Wayne Kramer possesses bar in Houston where Blake constantly sings. He also performs in bowling alleys but it is not enough for a talented man to have such a poor career. Currently he looks rather wretched – being very corpulent, smoking and drinking without a break. When he goes to the doctor he tells him that this way of life will lead him to an early death. But this lifestyle brought not only to problems with health but also to a couple of miserable marriages and having a son who is an adult already. He had not seen him from the times when the boy had been 4 and Bad Blake doesn’t even know where his son lives. Bad gives a performance in Santa Fe where he meets a journalist Craddock wishing to write a few lines about him. She is a young woman but still they start meeting soon. Lean Craddock has a son of four and at that time this is all the family that Bad Blake has. His career also makes a new positive twist when he meets Tommy Sweet who he had performed with when he had been younger. Tommy Sweet is very glad to see Bad and he offers him to buy some of his songs written. This is a new step and Bad fells his spirits rise. But these new chances that are eager to change his life completely are threatened by his previous affairs that almost ruined his life.
