Plot Summary:
Jenny Mellor is a 16-year old girl who lives with her family in London. Her father has great plans as for his daughter because he wants her to live a better life than he had. Jenny does everything to enter Oxford, she is a clever and pretty girl, and she is also very talented. Still her father thinks she has some troubles. The first one concerns learning Latin and the other one concerns her meeting with a boy Graham who seems to be a nice guy but he has a somewhat strange behavior in surrounding of the other people. Suddenly Jenny meets another man who is much older than her. His name is David Goldman and he totally changes his life. David tries to impress a girl together with her father in order to show them all that he has serious intentions. He knows what she likes and influences her with the help of her likings. Jenny enjoys time with her new friend and soon she can’t even imagine things to be different. David has friends, Danny and Helen, and they have some relations. Soon David and Jenny start get closer as well. Though, she doesn’t know everything about her new boyfriend. She doesn’t know how they all earn for living. Jenny has a choice either to enter Oxford or to start leading the life they do if it is worth it.
