Plot Summary:

The movie The Expendables is the story of an elite group of mercenaries having the mission of removing a dictatorial regime.

Mr. Church contacts mercenary leaders Barney Ross and Trench to speak to them about a new mission to take place in the island of Vilena. General Garza's regime needs to be overthrown. Trench leaves Ross to be responsible for this contract. After research, the team finds out that the general counts on an ex-CIA agent called James Munroe. He has developed a fear based strategy to let the general preserve his authority.

Their initial contact Sandra proves to be Garza's daughter. The mission leaves a lot of casualties as the team tries to retreat.

The general and Munroe receive help from a former member in Ross's mercenary team. The sniper was kicked out of the Expendables because he had psychological issues. Ross understands that Garza is not the real target. Mr. Church's plan aims to get a hold of Munroe. Ross decides to go back for Sandra bringing martial artist Yang along. They are followed by Jensen until they reach a deserted warehouse. There Jensen fights against Yang. Ross shoots Jensen to defend his friend. Jensen tries to reconcile with Ross and tells him about the place where he can find the general.

After they infiltrate in Garza's hideout the team starts to plant explosive devices in strategic points of the site. Munroe tortures Sandra which enrages the general so the former CIA agent kills Garza. The Expendables destroy the helicopter on site forcing Munroe to find another way out. Then the team fights Munroe's soldiers. They save Sandra and kill Munroe.

Ross gives the money earned from this mission to Sandra so she can pay for the reconstruction of the facilities on the island of Vilena. They celebrate together with recovered Jensen.
