Plot Summary:

Funny People is the story of Adam Sandler who finds out that he’s dying from a rare blood disorder. After living a life devoted to comedy, making fun of people, and slightly hurting others feelings, he realizes that he’s going to die, and he has to make up for the fact that he never really had any relationships, and he ruined those that he had. Adam Sandler is forced to make tough choices on his road to death, and he takes on a new friend played by Seth Rogen that helps write jokes for him and deal with his death. This sidekick soon finds that he is in more uncomfortable situations than he bargained for and tries to help Adam Sandler out more than he asked him to. A fight erupts from the two friends, and Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen make up in the end. Adam Sandler learns that he’s not going to die, and there are several comedians throughout so it ends up being a good experience for the audience, but the movie has a lot of dramatic elements despite being called a comedy. This movie is not for the faint of heart or for those who can’t take a little tearjerking.
