Plot Summary:

The Ghost Writer is a political thriller made by Roman Polanski with the evergreen Bond film’s hero Pierce Brosnan. The film revolves around the life of an unnamed ghost writer,who lands a contract to finish the unfinished memoirs of a former prime minister, Adam Lang, of UK. Adam is now retired and lives along with his wife in the USA in an island in luxury and utmost secrecy. Publishers, who want the memoir, have promised the ghost writer millions of pounds to finish it soon. The time is running out and ghost must finish it soon. He is dreaming of a princely life, bu the project is ill fated from the start as the first writer of the memoirs, the former advisor to Adam Lang gets killed in a tragic accident.

Soon, a major controversy breaks out surrounding the former PM whereby he is accused of having gone too far in his desire to have cordial relations with the US. A top British politician accuses Lang of handing over some suspected terrorists to the CIA, who were tortured and murdered. Since all this happened in the knowledge of the then PM, Lang, this tantamount to war crime, and is enough to implicate him. This is a serious issue, and the media gets into action, with a major controversy and soon the former PM’s house gets besieged.

In the midst of all the controversy, the ghost writer lays hands on some startling facts that show a completely different aspect of the whole incident, and the ex PM may not have been involved at all in the incident. The ghost writer finds himself in an unenviable situation and realizes that his own life is in danger. Should he bring to light what he has discovered to save his skin before it is too late? In the end, as he makes public his findings, he is shown hit by a car and all the papers he is holding flying into air.
