Plot Summary:

Going the Distance is all about the youth romance. New York was meant to be the lucky place for the two love birds to express their feelings for each other. Later they were destined to move apart as one of them shifted to San Francisco.

Starring Drew Barrymore, Justin Long, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Going the Distance is more of a romantic comedy in which the lead roles struggles to balance their lives and their love for each other while living miles apart. The unique thing about this is that the lead players, Drew Barrymore, Justin Long have been reported to be on and off couples in their real lives as well.

Garrett’s lives in New York and works in a record company, whereas, Erin has traveled to New York for availing a wonderful opportunity of getting an internship in the most prestigious New York City newspaper. The two people met and spend good time together but as Erin plans to fly back , they want to give a long distance relationship a try.

The phone calls, messaging and video calls are not always easy. Managing long distance relationship is hard task to perform and many people would agree to this who have been in this situation before. This situation gets worse when the two people are living across the country and are still figuring how to relocate.

The viewers on the whole have enjoyed the movie and appreciated the story line as well .However, there are quite a number of sex acts shown in the movie which could have been easily avoided. The story would have remained on track and would have been more interesting to watch as well. Over all , the movie is not just for time pass. It has a message about maintaining your relationships. The issues of the main roles are quite valid and are thought provoking. The lead roles are portraying the lives of two people who are amongst us. Since it is based on reality, the movie deserves appreciation.
