Plot Summary:

The Green Hornet is an action-comedy film directed by Michael Gondry and written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The film stars Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz. James Reid is a rich man, publisher of a Los Angeles newspaper. Britt Reid (Seth Rogen ) is his good for nothing son, who0 is a playboy and does nothing. One day, James is suddenly found dead and Britt fires all his staff except his mechanic Kato (Jay Chou) who is a martial art expert. Kato becomes his buddy. They both hated James and to prove camaraderie, they go to graveyard and cut off head from the statue of James. Britt makes a plan to become super heroes and bust crime syndicate which Kato seconds. Britt makes a plan to nab Chudnofsky, who is a Russian mobster. He uses his news paper to publish a series of articles on Chudnofsky to expose him. He describes him as a Green Hornet and hires Lenore (Cameron Diaz) as his assistant. He asks Lenore to prepare a profile of Chudnofsky. Britt and Kato blow up some of Chudnofsky’s hideouts leaving calling cards there. Because of articles on Chudnofsky, District Attorney Frank Scanlon is upset as it gives wrong signals to the public.

Meanwhile, Britt is upset with close relationship developing between Kato and Lenore and fires both of them. Kato receives an email from Chudnofsky in which he offers $1 million if Britt stops publishing about him. Britt learns that Scanlon is corrupt and even tried to bribe his father to scale down reporting of crime in the city to advance his career. Scanlon confesses to Britt that he killed James in a restaurant where there are Chudnofsky’s men present. Kato saves Britt from henchmen, and the two of them become friends again.

Chudnofsky arrives at Daily Sentinel and fights Britt and Kato. Britt somehow stabs him in eyes and Kato kills him. Britt and Kato take Scanlon to the 10th floor where he too dies fighting them. Attired in Green Hornet’s dress, Britt and Kato flee from the scene amidst firing by a SWAT team. They arrive at Lenore’s house where they meet Lenore who now learns of their secret identities. She hides both of them from the police and also applies medicines to Britt’s wounds. There is reconciliation of the three friends and Britt and Kato weld James’ bust back on to the statue.
