Plot Summary:

Rape is violent and brutal. It does not last for the duration of the act and the victim cannot just was it away. The act remains in the memory of the victim lifelong and is as reprehensible as murder, probably more than that. It doesn’t necessarily happen to loose or bad girls. Perhaps this is the message the director wants to convey to the audiences in I Spit on Your Grave. Directed by Steven R Monroe and written by Meir Zarchi (he directed the original in 1978), the film stars Sarah Butler, Chad Lindberg and Daniel Franzese.

Jennifer Hills (Butler) is a writer who takes a retreat from the city into the woods to start work on her new book. She takes a comfortable cabin for her work. But her presence is noticed by some morally depraved locals and they decide to tech this city lass a lesson one night. They break into her cabin and start humiliating her. But what starts as mere humiliation turns into a nightmare for Jennifer as she is brutally raped and physically abused. These deranged people beat her so much that she is almost dead. To escape from further attack, she throws herself into the river. Men try to search for her body, but when they cannot trace her whereabouts after a prolonged search, they give up and return to their normal lives. But against all odds, Jennifer survives. She is seething with anger and wows revenge on these men. The sole purpose in her life is to teach a lesson to these animals. One by one, she catcher her tormentors and abuses them physically to worse levels.

I Spit on Your Grave is good in concept and direction, and the actors have played their roles with honesty and dedication. The film is socially relevant and gives a strong message to the society.
