The film starts in 1912 when Indiana is a school boy and steals a cross from grave robbers. Robbers chase him and ask the Sheriff to intervene. Indiana sets on the search for his missing father with the help of his father’s assistant Dr. Elsa Schneider and also meets Walter Donovan who says that he asked Henry Jones to search for the Holy Grail. Before he went missing, Henry sent a secret diary to Indiana that contains all the information about Holy grail and also some maps and mysteries surrounding Holy grail. This information is sufficient for Indiana to trace his father. All this information is invaluable for the Nazis and they want the diary to get to the Holy Grail. When finally Indiana is able to reach his father, Elsa runs away with the diary and it turns out that she was working for the Nazis. Joneses somehow recover the diary fro Elsa’s clutches in a Nazi rally.
