Plot Summary:

This movie tells a story of a man who managed to become a perfect king and made his country a strong and moral castle protected by the wise council. This is the man who came from two countries simultaneously: from England and Rome. Poet Taliesin from Wales and many others sang of him in their works. For many centuries almost all the historians considered King Arthur to be a mythological character that had never existed in real life. But later it was discovered that all the legends had been based on a real person’s destiny. His ruling way and ideas altered not only the Great Britain but the whole world. An ancient Celtic poem describes his life. This poem became the base of the film with Clive Owen as Arthur. He doesn’t see any positive consequences of following Rome's pullout of Britain. He is a Christian, so he protects Rome to save it. But his faithful Knights of the Round Table are heathens, and he doesn’t mind them returning to the homeland of their ancestors Sarmatia. In order to do this he has to make them free from his own religion. But before he managed to do this he has the aim to complete the last important mission with his Knights. They have to get into the heart of their enemies’ territory for profound knowledge acquiring and exciting adventures. There Arthur with his Knights Lancelot and others has to fight with their usual enemies – Merlin and the army of guerrillas. Knights called them 'Woads' because the painted themselves with the Woad plant. Soon Arthur will see that Woads just protect the land where Roman rule has destroyed everything and lowered the level of life in Britain. The Saxons will invade the Britain land and with no Romans or Arthur with his Knights around, the territory had been conquered. Merlin and Guinevere tries to become the leader of the land for changing the way people lived. Exciting adventures, great role-play, historical review combine to make up a story based on the greatest legend ever told on Earth. You will see Keira Knightley as Guinevere in the movie.
