Plot Summary:
This film tells a story about 3 security guards. They have in common several features – they work at the same gallery, they all are retirees and they all love art. The difference between them is in the type of art they like. The first guard adores painting The Maiden displayed in the gallery. Roger, the second one, is fond of another painting. The third security guard likes sculpture. All of them cannot imagine their lives without a job as they have no other interests. So they pay all their time to beloved parts of art. Roger has a wife. She wants to go to Miami to live there the rest of their life, but Roger hesitates: he cannot leave his favorite job and his favorite painting without his custody.
Suddenly these security guards hear very unpleasant news – exhibitions are going to change as the entire gallery will be renewed. New and more attractive pieces of art will take place instead of the old ones. They discover that their favorites have been sold to another gallery located in Copenhagen. Security guards are desperate. They don’t know what to do because they cannot live happily without seeing paintings and sculptures every day. Roger is an inventive man. He develops a plan of stealing their pieces of art in order they could not be sent to the gallery they had been promised. The plan is not very rational but guards consider it is worth completing as the destiny of their purpose of life is at stake.
