Plot Summary:

The movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an adaptation for the screen of the famous game going by the same name.

On the streets of ancient Persia, the king takes interest into a small child showing great skills. He adopts Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) and raises him.

Fifteen pass and now Dastan is a skilled warrior ready to take under siege the holy city of Alamut along with his half-brothers Garsiv and Tus. The king's brother Nizam advised the attack on the city under the suspicion of selling weapons to enemy kingdoms. He develops a plan to get inside the city and succeeds to enter. Dastan come across one of Princess Tamina's guards and takes possession of a special dagger called the Dagger of Time which enables the holder to go back in time.

The city of Alamut surrenders to the Persians as Tamina agrees to marry Tus. At the ceremony, Dastan gives his father a beautiful gown. The king dies burned by it and Tus orders the capture of Dastan. Tamina offers to help him escape so she can be close to the dagger.

Dastan returns for his father's funeral and tries to convince his uncle Nizam of his innocence. He realizes that the king's adviser was the one behind the murder as he wants power for himself.

Tamina and Dastan and some old mercenary acquaintances go to a secret sanctuary where the dagger can be hid. They are attacked by Garsiv's men. After the fight, Dastan shows his brother the power of the knife and he understands that his half-brother is innocent.

Back in Alamut, in an attempt to prevent Nizam from using the dagger, Tamina sacrifices herself. Dastan unleashes the sands of time and manages to go back in time and reveals his uncle's plan to his family.
