Plot Summary:
Michael Berg lives in German and works as a barrister. He is neither young now old but still he has sweet memories to recollect. Hanna Schmitz is hidden inside his brain and people surrounding him even didn’t know anything about her. Their first meeting was in 1958, he was a young buy then and she was a mature and experienced woman. Her age was twice as more than his. They had a wonderful summer together full of love and passion. She taught him how to read her reactions in order to please her best of all. Their next meeting happened eight year later. Michael learnt law in the university. He visited a trial over 6 women who had been guards in German camps during the years of the Second World War. Hanna was among those women. Michael is a very attentive listener. He finds the way of releasing Hanna from a long sentence. But he realizes that she doesn’t want to open the truth to save herself. Michael is between two fires and he cannot make a good decision because he is not sure where real justice is.
