Plot Summary:
“Rear Window” is a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It based on a story by Cornell Woolrich "It Had to Be Murder". The plot tells us about a professional photographer L. B. "Jeff" Jeffries (James Stewart), who forced to spend all the days long in his small apartment in Greenwich Village: his leg is broken. Only nurse Stella (Thelma Ritter), Lisa Fremont (Grace Kelly) and his cop-friend go to see him each day. The window in his bedroom looks towards the yard. Opposite this window there were his neighbours’ windows. And he could see how is it going at his neighbours’. Jeffries for want of better to do just seing after everybody of his stable companion. As a result of this observation he found out that the murder took place in one of his neighbours’ appartment. At the beginning nobody believes him, but later he managed to convince Stella and Liza in his rightness. His cop-friend didn’t believe him till the very end of this detective story. But the murder found out that Jeffries knows everything about this crime and tried to kill him. This story ended happily, the only thing is – Jeffries broke the second leg after falling out of a window. Apart from the main plot in this movie there are several secondary branches.
