Plot Summary:

Red hill is a western movie released on November 5, 2010. It is a movie in the genre of action and thriller. Written and directed by Patrick Hughes, the movie stars Steve Bisley, Kevin Harrington, Ryan Kwanten and Tommy Lewis. The movie talks about a young police officer Shane Cooper (Ryan Kwanten) who has been posted in a small town of Red Hill. He goes to the place along with his pregnant wife Alice to start his family. As he joins his duty, all hell breaks loose as there is a jail break in the prison and some hardcore criminals have run away. The local law and order goes into a tail spin and the police officials are panicky. Shane is caught unawares as this is his first day of duty in a new city.

Jimmy Conway is a murderer who has been convicted and is serving a lifer. But now he is free and Shane has to perforce take law in his own hands if he has any hope of surviving. The film is very fast paced and the entire story takes place within a time frame of a day and a night which is unique. The movie is full of some outlandish action sequences along with gory violence. The film can truly be called a modern day Western despite having Australia as its location.

Shifting to a new assignment into a new city is difficult in any case when you have a pregnant wife, but when you have to contend with a hostile boss, things become worse. And on top of all this, the first day on duty becomes a nightmare for Shane when he has to fight for his survival facing the bullets of criminals who escaped the local prison. This is a beautiful film that establishes Hughes as a very good director.
