Plot Summary:

If you love watching historical adventure and action films then ‘Seasons of the witch’ is your cup of tea. Directed by Dominic Sena and written by Bragi F. Schut, this movie brings to life the war between Gods and the church. Starring the Oscar winner actor from ‘Con Air’, ‘National Treasure’ and ‘Ghost Rider’, Nicolas Cage has carried the movie well on his shoulders along side Ron Perlman (Hellboy). The movie belongs to a vast genre ranging from drama to action, mystery, suspense, science fiction as well as fantasy. This film has something for everyone and will keep the audiences entertained.

‘Seasons of the Witch’ is the story of a heroic knight and crusader who fights the wars for Gods and the Church but later on becomes a deserter. This supernatural adventure and action movie starts off in the 14th century when a crusader, Behmen (Nicolas Cage) and his friend, Felson (Ron Perlman) return from war after decades of rigorous fighting. During one war, Behmen kills an innocent girl and from then on both of them return from the wars to become deserters. They stumble upon a land torn apart by the Black Plague. The harassed church accuses a girl of being a witch and for bringing the plague upon the land by sorcery. The two get captured and are commanded by the church elders to transport this witch to a monastery where an ancient ritual will be performed by the monks to get rid of this plague on their land. So the journey begins which tests the skills and courage of the two knights. The young girl believed to be a witch is played by (Claire Foy).

Behmen and Felson agree to this feat on the condition that the girl is given a fair chance at trial. The movie portrays how the journey of the three unfolds. Soon other characters join this voyage in which there is a priest Debelzaq (Stephen Campbell Moore), Hagamar (Stephen Graham), who acts as their guide but is none the less a swindler, Kay (Robert Sheehan)an altar boy of young age, who dreams of being knighted. Another knight Eckhart (Ulrich Thomsen) joins this group on their journey as well.

This supernatural action movie is a treat to watch and enjoyable. It gives one their moneys worth. Nicolas cage fans will not be disappointed to watch him act in this movie and the other cast members played their roles to the mark as well. A lot of recognition and acclaim is being given to this movie and it is worth watching a second time and again.
