Plot Summary:

For all those horse lovers who find special pleasure in the company of this wonderful creature, Secretariat is one movie which will have a special place in their heart. The movie is based upon a true story of a horse that created history of sorts by winning the Triple Crown in the year 1973. Penny Chenery (Dianne Lane) is a mother and housewife, who, out of her love for her ailing father agrees to take care of his stables in Virginia, although she knows nothing about horses and has no knowledge of horse training. She is helped in her endeavor by an experienced trainer Lucien Laurin. In a business that is dominated by males, Penny ultimately succeeds and even makes her horse win the Triple Crown, first in the last 25 years.

Diane Lane has given a superb performance in the role of a housewife who adores his father. She devotes all her energies to see that the business of his father is afloat. She struggles to bear the dual responsibility of a mother of two kids and a horse breeder but continues unfazed. The real star of the movie is the horse called Big Red. There ate some fascinating horse close-ups along with touching emotional scenes between Diane and her horse, and if you are a horse lover, do not miss this film for portraying so much of drama and action.
