Slumdog Millionaire Plot Summary:
It is a version of the novel of an Indian author Vikas Swarup “Q & A”. This movie won eight Academy Awards in 2009. “Slumdog Millionaire” is a British movie, that was set and filmed in India. That film tells the story of a young uneducated man, who raised in the slums of Mumbai and appears on the Indian version of famous all over the world TV-show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”. Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) a stone's throw away from the huge prize – 20 millions rupiahs. A lot of people were puzzling if he has really a vast knowledge or just lucky. But during the break he was arrested on suspicion of cheating. While being interrogating in the police establishment Jamal tells about his sad life history. Each chapter of this story amazingly coincides with the right answer on TV-show’s questions. With knobs on he explains why he decided to take part in this show. It happened because of his wish to find Latika (Rubina Ali). They raised together in the the slums of Mumbai, he fell in love with her, but later they lost each other, because of the Jamal’s older brother Salim. It is the story with happy ending, that tells us about allegiancy and big money, relationships between brothers and luck.
