Plot Summary:

If you love movies in the genre thriller and drama, Stone is the film you must watch for some intense performances and a powerful drama that unfolds slowly and keeps the audiences glued to the film. The film has been directed by John Curran and written by Angus Mac Lachlan. The film has a powerful star cast with Robert Di Nero, Milla Jovovich and Edward Norton playing the lead roles. Di Nero plays the role of a middle aged police officer (Jack Mabry) who is awaiting his retirement when he is entrusted with the case of Gerald Stone Creeson who has been convicted for arson. Actually his grand parents were killed by a mob in arson and he has been charged with covering up the evidence.

Stone’s case has come up for parole and the hearing is due next week. Mabry is not sympathetic towards Stone as he feels Stone is guilty and he is dead against Stone’s early release from prison. Stone needs to convince the officer that he has actually reformed but Mabry does no think so. Sensing the parole officer’s mood, Stone becomes desperate as he sees no hope for a release. He tries his best to convince Mabry but to no avail. He knows that he may not be able to convince Mabry for his release, and so hatches a plan in connivance with his beautiful wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich). He asks Lucetta to seduce the officer so that he does not oppose his early release from prison. But while trying to seduce the officer, Lucetta is unable to keep her passions under control and the thin line dividing emotions and motives blurs.

The film is very gripping and the performances of all the actors are creditable. Milla in particular has been quite impressive. If only for human emotions, this is a must watch movie.
