Plot Summary:

The movie has been written and directed by Florian Henckel Von Donnersmarck and also stars Paul Bettany besides Depp and Jolie.

Frank (Johnny Depp) is an American tourist going to Italy to have a vacation. He has just broken from his lover and is looking for some solace. In the journey, he finds an attractive woman, Elise (Angelina) sitting next to him. He starts to like Angelina and develops feelings for her who also behaves as if she has started to love him. What the elementary math teacher from US doesn’t know is that Angelina deliberately crossed his path in order to bring out a criminal, Alexander Pierce, wanted by the police. To make matters worse, the criminal was a lover of Angelina once, and she is using the American tourist as a tool to bring him out of his hiding. The police is after this criminal for having stolen more than $2bn from a mobster, and to make matters worse, the British Economic police is also after the man for their share (taxes) of money that amount to $775 million. The police does not know what the man looks like, and they are relying on Angelina to uncover the man. The plot is beautiful and the film is gripping to keep the audiences glued till the end. The Tourist is a remake of a French film Anthony Zimmer.
