Plot Summary:
Who would have thought that Ben Affleck would make such a strong comeback and that too as a director? His latest film ‘The Town’ is in the genre of drama and impresses all with its sincerity.
The setting of the film is in Charlestown, which is in the neighborhood of Boston, and is known as the crime capital of the country. The place has been churning out robbers after robbers since generations. The central characters of the film are Doug MacRay, Albert Gloansy Magloan, Desmond Elden and James Coughlin. James and Doug treat each other like family members. Doug’s mother ran away from the family and his father was sent to the prison. Doug has a sexual relationship with James’ sister Kristina. The four friends, or shall we say gang members carry out a bank heist and in the process have to take hostage the bank manager Claire Keesey for a short time period. They leave her unharmed after some time. They however come to know that Claire lives in Charlestown. To ensure that she knows nothing that could land them in prison, Doug tries to befriend her and tries to know what she has told to the police about the bank robbery. FBI have taken the case into their hands are now investigating the case.
Claire tells him all that she knows. Doug comes to know that she has withheld some information from the FBI, which is enough to incriminate James. If FBI gets their hand to this information, James could easily be identified. But in the process, the two of them fall in love with each other. Doug even dreams of going out of Charlestown with Claire, but fears that she will learn about his identity. The FBI investigators find the trail of the gangsters, and finally the four of them are nabbed.
