Plot Summary:

If you loved Clint Eastwood and his style of films, you are going to love True Grit movie. This is a movie in the genre of western and drama and full of action and adventure from the start to the finish. This is actually second adapatation of a novel written by Charles Portis in 1968. The True Grit movie has been directed by a duo of Ethan and Joel Coen and also written by them. The movie stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Hailee Steinfeld. Mattie Ross is a little 14 year old girl whose father is killed by a hired assassin Tom Chainey. She wows revenge and hires the services of a US marshal. Now the marshal, Reuben J Rooster Cogburn (Jeff bridges), is a drunkard and does not want involvement of Mattie in tracking down the killer of her father. But mattie is adamant, and against the wishes of the marshal, joins him in his search of Chaney in various nations. Another man, Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney, joins them for his personal revenge against Chaney. This unlikely trio faces a lot of dangers and surprises in their arduous journey. The three have loaded rifles and only justice for the poor girl in mind.

The three of them finally encounter Chaney who is now in a gang of criminals. Mattie fires at Chaney from her father’s revolver, but the pistol misfires and the gang hold her as a hostage. Ned, who is the head of the gang, leaves Mattie with Chaney and asks him to keep her alive. But Chaney can’t control himself once he is alone with Mattie and attacks Mattie. La Boeuf appears from no where and knocks Chaney with his rifle butt. Mattie snatches his rifle and kills Chaney, but the rebound throws her in to a chasm filled with snakes. She is bitten by snakes.

The climax takes place 25 years later with Mattie as a 40 year old woman having one arm, as she had to go amputation because of snake bite. She is standing by the grave of Cogburn wondering about how the time has passed so quickly.
